Democratic Leadership Manual

The Democratic Leadership Manual is a resource designed to help students and advisors establish and operate a democratic secondary school student council in Canada. The contents of this resource were developed from the results of the Student Council Democratic Engagement Initiative – a project aimed at assessing, analyzing and improving student councils across Canada. This project was funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and was test piloted in over 10 Canadian schools. The Democratic Leadership Manual is free to CSLA member schools. The manual is available electronically, but members may choose to have a hard-copy shipped* to their school. The Democratic Leadership Manual is also available for purchase at the CSLA Leadership Store.
